Spring Mill State Park

Several weeks ago, we spent a day in Indiana at Spring Mill State Park. It has several caves and a pioneer village. We learned when we got there that the caves were closed. But, we had lots of fun in the pioneer village, and we had a picnic in the park.

This is the Spring Mill Inn....the kids wanted to stay here, but Trenton and Alex had school the next day.

A Valentine's Day To Remember!!

Chris and I were so happy to get to go to Evansville for Valentine's Day on Saturday. His mom and dad kept the kids for us! We wanted to watch a movie, but there wasn't anything playing that interested us both. But, we found a movie called Australia that looked good. It was at a theater that showed older movies that were on several months ago. We had a hard time finding the theater and arrived a little late, but we didn't think there would be many people there. So, we bought our tickets and it was SO cheap...$3.50 each! Then we got our popcorn and ran through the hall because we were late. We get in the theater and it's nearly full....but there were 2 seats in the back all alone...perfect!! So, then we look around and see that absolutely EVERYONE there is at least 70....interesting! We were wondering why all these people were there and we came to this conclusion.

1. It was Valentine's Day

2. Tickets were cheap

3. The movie had to do with World War II

So, put all that together and you get a theater full of the WWII generation! We were laughing through the movie because when it was dark, you could look out and all the white hair glowed in the dark. The ones who had popcorn, only had the small sizes...because there were free refills....and they KEPT getting up for those refills. And, as soon as it was over, it was like a stampede because they all had to use the bathroom! No kidding, the line to the women's bathroom was LONG!

We'll never forget it and had a great time!! The popcorn there was the best we'd ever had. And, the theater still had all these movie posters up from the '80's. We couldn't resist taking some pics with those...So, here's our old movie poster pics...enjoy!! :)

So, we went to playgroup this morning at 9:30. When we got home around noon, I realized the thermostat said 62 degrees. I wondered why it was so low because it was set on 69, but I had been bringing in groceries, and it's SO cold and windy outside that I just thought that maybe alot of heat had gotten out. At 1:00 it still wasn't warming up at all. The thermostat now read 61. So I thought maybe there was a window open or something. I checked all the windows, but they were all closed. I felt the air coming out of the vents and it was cold, so I thought maybe the pilot light had went out. That's when I noticed this....

See the little red chair under the thermostat? You guessed it....Caden struck again!! He not only switched it to A/C. He also lowered it to 61 degrees!!

Alex likes to watch Survivorman. Last week when it snowed, he played outside both days for hours. He said he was Survivorman.

Brianna at Sunday School

I always wonder what Brianna talks about when we're not around because she talks to everybody.

I asked her what she learned at church today and she said her teacher told a story about Jesus helping a sick little girl. I asked her if she talked about anything in class and she said, "Yes, I told my teacher that last year you were very sick. You were frowin up everywhere! So, me and daddy helped you! I told her that you didn't died though, you were still awake." I asked her if she was good in class and she said, " I was very good. I didn't hit or pull hair and my teacher said I could have some fruit snacks if I sat on my bottom."

Brianna's Dream

Brianna never sleeps all night in her own bed. She always comes to our room and sleeps on the floor in the middle of the night. This morning I asked her why she likes to sleep on our floor and she said, "well, I just dream better there." I asked her what she dreamed about last night and she said, "I had a dream about a pie yano (piano). The pie yano was upstairs, and it was nice, and it could talk! It had 5 legs and it said, " do you want to go outside and play Brianna". I was scared, so I ran downstairs and you and daddy held me. Then we went to the movies and seen the puppet show! The pie yano went too, and Grandma and Grandpa Mark were there and we all ate apple pie! It was a great party!"

Playing Dress Up

I think Alex dressed him up. He wore it for about an hour and it actually slowed him down a little. He couldn't climb very well in his skirt. I might just make him wear this everyday!

Trenton got Alex this nice troll doll for Christmas.

Brianna'a favorite gift was her Barbie vanity that Santa brought. She also loves the princess dresses that we got her.

Brianna even had to wear one of her princess dresses to Granny and Grandpa Wells house for lunch on Christmas day. Here she helps Caden unwrap his present. She helped Caden unwrap almost all of his presents this Christmas.

Creating a Blog

I've been thinking for a while that I ought to start a family website where I can post pictures, but I thought it would be hard. Well, I finally checked into it and it has taken about 10 minutes to set up. Guess I should have looked into it a long time ago! I'm really just trying this out right now.

Here are a couple of pictures. Uploading hasn't been very fast and sometimes they don't load at all. Here is Brianna and Chris sharing a milkshake at Steak n Shake, and Caden with his cowboy hat. Lately, he loves wearing his cowboy hat and riding his horse.
